Your length of viewing time and potential viewing time is greatly extended by the Thermo-Electric cooling and built in fan combo working in this cutting edge new camera; the camera cooled to a maximum range of 40-45 C Degrees less than ambient temperature, which greatly works to prevent overheating. While it's still not impossible for overheating to occur if you over-strain the camera, the ASI-1600 can be used for extremely long sessions without overheating due to this effective cooling system and method. This is just another part of how adaptable this camera is; as you can set the cooling level anywhere up to that maximum of 40-45 C less than ambient- which means you can set it based on your environmental conditions as well as based on how long you intend to use the camera.
